![]() Why don't you just take a leg shot on Bambi, take it to the "car dealership" for the annual "contest", get your "hero shot" for the local paper. then bandage it up and release it back to the wild. The big difference is that Bambi is already dead, whereas the fish will probably swim away. At least you have given the fish a chance. I equate this to hunting.most guys have no problem blowing out bambi's brains while trotting through a field, but get so mad over someone taking a photo of a fish. there's no mention for the legal use of Boga Grips in the law. Therefore, they do exist and are still in use on PA.s waters, still today! Really disappointing, was the missed opportunity to cry foul. ![]() (2.) If gaffs were not a popular landing tool and thought to be not needed, there would be no reason for such a law allowing for their use to begin with. Since bigger nets, cradles and yes, the grips, have become available the gaff, once popular with (some ) fresh water fisherman, is going by the wayside. (1.) Gaffs were a popular landing device used by many anglers for years. I tossed out the legality for the use of nets/gaffs in PA. For you "seasoned" anglers, fishing gaffs do come in various sizes and not just the long handled versions you see while watching your dream, deep sea fishing programs. The fish may be taken from the water or (unlike the gaff) held in the water while hook(s) are removed. When grips are used, the fish will be taken by the jaw without any need for piercing the fish at all. Not only are gaffs used to hook the fish in the fleshy part of the jaw, anglers will hook a fish under the gill plate or even impale the fish in other areas using the sharp point. In either case, used wrong, they will undoubtedly injure or may lead to the death of a fish. The gaff was brought about in comparison to using grips. Personal preference & choice because I believe they are used improper and lazily a lot more often than not (not saying you do, just that a lot do). Nothing illegal with your boga, but you'll never catch me with one, nor anyone in my boat. ![]() That's why we just do the best we can and make choices we think are best for us & the fish. I know it's a blood sport, we're in the same game, and I'm sure you do your best. The only way to protect musky 100% is to not fish for them. Education is key to teach people proper way to use a boga. But if you know how to use it, it's the best method of safely releasing musky for both fish and angler. She swam away but not sure if she made it. Fish was calm until I got it about half out then head shaked till I dropped it back in net. Have you ever seen a gill plate get ripped out from a hand lift? I have, and have it happen to myself as well with a fish thrashing in the net I'm about to lift. But I do not know any other way to lift a fish into a boat than with some amount of vertical lift. Your right any vertical hold can be damaging. D-nymph I think you understand what my examples are ment to show. Musky fishing is a blood sport, plain and simple. I'd rather lose one than kill it if I can avoid doing so. I do it because it's better for those slow growing old beasts. Huh? I fish barbless, you don't have to, but I do. In my book, the Boga Grips are the best possible means to prevent injury to both fish and angler. ![]() As far as being ridiculous, see how far you get with the barb less hook suggestion or, leaving the fish in the water idea.īeenThereDoneThat. When they do, the fish will most likely be taken into the boat or, taken to shore before being returned to the water (hopefully) unharmed. Again, the majority of the anglers do not target Musky and catch the fish entirely from luck. "The best possible means of being returned to the water in a timely manner without injury", as you say, is with single hooked barbless baits/lures/flies and without a boga. Nobody carries gaffs in freshwater, don't be ridiculous. but, no problem, I've been wrong about people before. The Boga Grips: A gathering of short stories by BeenThereDoneThat It's not on Amazon.

The most common events include: double tap to focus, tapping in the portrait mode, the device turning on with a tap, scrolling to scrollable elements, and so forth. The reason for this is quite simple the Quick Supports function only supports the most common screen capture events that occur on most Android devices. If you're working with a device that has a very specific layout or doesn't respond correctly to certain commands, then the TeamViewer QuickSupport service may not be the ideal solution for your needs. A Lightning Question Office Party Icebreaker Game That Will Have Your Coworkers Shooting from the HipĪt a recent company retreat, my colleagues and I were wined and dined in a cozy hotel ballroom, and starting to really enjoy ourselves, when our boss made an announcement-and my stomach dropped. I called bully dog again but this time I had to wait for about 10 - 15 minutes before I got a tech. So when I got out of work I tried it again with the same results. I got on the phone with BD and got a tech within minutes of calling them, he told me they needed to reword that section because you have to make the adjustments with the truck running, he did say though if I still had problems they'd have to send me some special file for the truck. Unfortunately though when I got the truck to operating temp and was granted access to the idle and timing menus, the screen prompts would tell me to turn the key off, then turn the key to the on position, so I followed the directions but the idle and timing would not adjust, it would bring me to the screen and tell me to push up or down to make adjustments, but nothing would happen the values would stay at zero. First was that you can't access those features unless the truck is at operating temperature or higher (180 Degrees), it makes sense you want to adjust those things when the engine is running normally so you can make proper adjustments. When I went to play with the Idle adjustment & timing I ran into some issues. However I couldn't really squeak any extra mileage out of my truck so I switched over to transmission temperature to see how the transmission temperature behaves. At first I played with the fuel economy and driving coach which was nifty, it gave little hints about how to drive better, there was a little bar that showed you wasted energy and your driving score as a whole and for the specific trip. The other 3/4's of the screen is used to display details from 1 of the 4 parameters you've chosen to monitor, and you can pick which one you want details on at any time. Right off the bat the monitoring features are pretty cool, you have a column on the left that takes up roughly 1 quarter of the screen, and the column contains 4 rows you can use to monitor any 4 different engine parameters. I got the bully dog all updated and loaded up with the right software for my truck and went out to uninstall the Hypertech and install the bully dog. The Bully Dog arrived and I was actually very surprised by the size of it, I expected it to be closer to the size of a small GPS unit, not a big deal, I was also surprised by the complexity of initial setup for the bully dog, but again not a big deal. ![]() The only thing I was worried about was losing the WOT restriction removal option, but I'll go into that more in a minute. ![]() ![]() But anyway the other day I was sitting in traffic and the idle vibration got real annoying so I took to Amazon and picked up a Bully Dog GT Platinum 40417. I've actually been running a Hypertech max energy for over a year now, and I've been happy with the performance, but when I bought it I was unaware that it was missing two key features the Bully Dog tuner has, the first being Idle Adjustment to fix the low idle vibration, and the timing adjustment, I also found out later on that BD is one of the few (only?) ways to monitor trans temp w/o a real gauge setup. Hey guys, over the past couple weeks I decided to experiment a little with a bully dog tuner and I wanted to share my thoughts. ![]() Like women always looking like they’re going to a wedding in a Jane Austen film instead of the sort of weird tight curls that were the fashion of the early 1800s. All the research I did was to find the things that maybe have been overlooked or maybe because of the time period when that movie was set, they weren’t comfortable. I do love period films and I think they’re hard to do well. I wanted to commit hard to the Jane Austen film. I didn’t want to go soft and sort of dance in the middle of something. And then I wanted to know what would turn someone’s head who says they hate this kind of movie. Then in film I feel like Jane Austen obviously has this set group of fans, they’re going to be in the seats already. So I always tried to think from the perspective of the fan, what would they want next?
